Money Talks....

Thank you for joining us on this issue of Money Talks….So this issue we are continuing talking from the “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People”. How are you doing in the areas physical, social/emotional, spiritual, and mental?

Physical: Exercise, Nutrition, Stress Management. The physical dimension involves caring effectively for our physical body. Eating the right kinds of foods, getting sufficient rest and relaxation and exercising on a regular basis. Endurance comes from exercise. Flexibility comes through stretching. Stretching comes from muscle resistance exercises.

Spiritual: This dimensionn provides leadership to your life. It is your core, your center, your commitment to your value system. Immersion in great literature or great music can provide some renewal as well. Spiritual renewal takes an investment of time.

Mental: This includes education. Continuing, education, continually honing and expanding the mind-is vital mental renewal. Sometimes that involves the external discipline of the classroom or systematized study programs. There’s no better way to inform and expand your mind on a regular basis than to get into the habit of reading good literature. Start with a goal of reading one book a month. The person who doesn’t read is no better off than the person who can’t read.

Writing is another powerful way to sharpen the mind. Keeping a journal of our thoughts, experiences, insights, and learnings promotes mental clarity, exactness and context. Organizing and planning represent other forms of mental renewal. It begins with the end in mind and being able to mentally organize to accomplish that end. It’s visualizing, imagining power of your mind to see the end from the beginning and to see the entire journey.

Social/Emotional: Living a life of integrity. Peace of mind comes when your life is in harmony with principals, values and morals. Taking time out to work on one’s self, self care is so important.

Scheduling time to take care of your health, spiritual, mental and social care will benefit you for years to come. I once heard it said, it’s better to take control of your health now or later it will take care of you. This also affects the different policies that you might try to obtain.
